I’m a fourth-year student in the Cornell University College of Engineering.
Engineering
At Cornell my primary focus has been electrical and computer engineering, with research interests in computer vision and signal processing. Between working on random cool projects like the nerf sentry gun and studying for classes, I’m a Course Consultant for CS1114: Introduction to Computing using Matlab and Robotics. I also work with the Sustainability Research Facility project with Cornell University Sustainable Design, and lead the Innovative Energy Technology subteam, in addition to work with CUSD’s website and promotional materials. From 2009 to 2010 I worked as a software development intern for Assured Systems, Inc. in Yonkers, NY.
Policy Debate
I’ve been involved in policy debate since 2004 as both a competitor, judge, and coach. In addition to competing in NDT and CEDA debate for the Cornell Forensics Society, I have published research for Planet Debate and am developing debate-related technology solutions at Debsoft. I also publish Policap, a website focusing on policy analysis & forecasting.
Economics & Statistics
I’m strongly interested in economics & statistics topics, notably econometrics and psephology. I’ve done research into financial accounting practices for a keynote address at the Systemic Risk Conference at the University of Chicago’s Milton Friedman Institute. During Summer 2011 I worked as a Technology Summer Analyst at Barclays Capital in NYC.
Personal
I’m an avid musician, and enjoy running, tennis, and volleyball.
